I’m a writer living in Switzerland. I’ve published several short stories in Anthologies and literary journal. I write my stories in German – my mother tongue. Nevertheless this blog is held in English and on rare occasions in French.
Thank you, but I can’t take credit being swiss, because I’m relocated from Germany (that also explains my poor English). If I was swiss I could speak proper french by now and I would know where Turbenthal is and I could ski…
Far from every Swiss german speaks proper French, and the other way around neither. Some do, but they are an exception.
Welcome to a land of deep cultural differences, but nevertheless keeping its national cohesion.
Greeting from the French speaking part
Thank you, madman.
French is such a hard language. One day I think I got it know, the next day is like I have to start again, …
Yes, I’ve already meet the deep cultural differences of swiss people which suprises me everytime anew. I hadn’t expected that…
I love your blog and your beautiful touches into the words and photographs… Thank you for all your beautiful sharing with us. Blessing and Happiness, love, nia
Thanks. I do my best and hope it is readable. No, I’ve never been to Zurich (what a shame). I live in French speaking part of Valais, so I don’t have any practice in Swizerdütsch, but I get if it is not too hard because I come from the south of Germany.
your photographs are awesome and stunning! thank you for visiting, i hope to look into more of your archives and i know they will be worth seeing … APRIL
es ist schön, dass du mein blog gefunden hast. Ab und an schreibe ich post in Französisch – das hilft mir beim lernen. Aber Deutsch habe ich nicht vor zu posten.

Switzerland, eh? That explains why that ‘weed’ – Convolvulus – looks so pretty and benign!
PS My oldest friend lives in Turbenthal – I’ve been visiting since 1972 – so I do have a bit of a soft spot for you Swiss:)

Hi Penny, sorry I didn’t notice your nice words sooner. Thanks being so kind, I hope my English is comprehensible and I don’t violate it to much.

I never guessed English wasn’t your first language. Are you anywhere near Zurich? I was there recently and wrote http://mrscarmichael.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/i-don't-like-the-smell-of-antipasti-or-swiss-food-for-thought/ on my eating experience one Friday. I have to say I struggled to understand anything that was said to me that day except perhaps ‘Merci’ which is neither german nor SD.

Have you considered a bi-lingual blog – zweisprachig – that could be fun to play around with. Was meinst du?
